Walbran beach in the morning
Walbran Creek in the morning. OK, this looked like a great place for a swim to get refreshed, cleaned up and shampoo... and it was VERY refreshing (COLD!)
Crapper at Walbran. This was the best crapper on the whole trail.... good view too (from inside!) Check out our hike to the Monashee to see our favorite crapper of all time!
My new office. You know what managers always say: "My office door is always open!"
On the way to Vancouver Point. Looking north between Walbran creek and Vancouver point
Looking south from near Vancouver Point.
Pebble beach north of Vancouver point. Looking north towards Bonilla point. Others have been here before us today. This pea gravel is hard work to walk on!
South towards Vancouver point. Looking back at the trail our footprints made. Every so often we enjoyed looking back at "from where we came".
Rocky beach near Bonilla point.
Our first view of Carmanah lighthouse in the distance.
Waterfall near Bonilla point. I don't know if this is Bonilla creek or Kulaht creek. Anyhow we didn't stop to set up tripods, so you only get a quick snapshot here.
Another view of Carmanah through Bonilla point.
Carmanah beach. Carmanah beach on a great sunny day! Zero rain in sight today.
Seagulls at Carmanah. There were a few seagulls here. Fortunately, we were not given any presents by them.
Chez Monique. Enjoying a burger and beer at Chez Monique's.
View from Carmanah lighthouse. Looking south at Carmanah beach from the lighthouse grounds.

Beach near Cribs Creek
Sunset at Cribs Creek
Morning at Cribs Creek
Morning at Cribs Creek beach. If you look carefully you can see some hikers heading south down the beach.
Hiking just north of Cribs beach. (Looking north)
Looking back towards Cribs beach.
Piece of old ship. What's left of an old shipwreck (don't know which one?) not far north of Cribs beach. This photo scored well in a Langley Camera Club competition!
Rounding Dare point

Cheewat beach. Closed to camping this year due to bear(s).
Nitinat Narrows. The cook is just getting some fresh crab for us!
Nitinat Narrows. View from the dock at Nitinat narrows, looking inland.
Nitinat Narrows water taxi. Yes, that's Chris on board, I think he got a ride back for his hiking pole?
Viewpoint from the trail north of Nitinat Narrows, looking north.
Viewpoint from the trail north of Nitinat, looking south back towards the narrows.
Tsuquadra Point. A great view of Tsuquadra Point in the distance.
Tsusiat Point. Tsusiat point, looking north in the harsh late afternoon sun. I'm tired and our campsite around the point will be most welcome, we did 17km today.
Tsusiat Point, looking south. Late afternoon sun again, but at least it is behind me. And, we're done hiking for the day after going 17 km I believe, for the longest (most hours too) day of hiking on the whole trail.
Tsusiat Falls. These waterfalls were amazing, and this was the busiest campsite on the whole trail. In the morning, we sat on a rock behind the falling water and washed our hair, then just leaned forward into the falling water to rinse off!
Tsusiat Falls #2
Sunset at Tsusiat Falls.
Crapper at Tsusiat Falls. Looks like someone has been drinking... besides the obvious things that one does here!
Camping at Tsusiat Falls. We're the only one left in this whole camp... everyone else is in quite the hurry. No worries, we'll enjoy a swim under the waterfalls!
Last look at Tsusiat falls. Leaving Tsusiat falls behind and heading to the forest trail for another day of hiking.
Chris crossing bridge, west coast trail style!
Chris is posing on the bridge now...
Ladders up from Tsusiat. As soon as we left Tsusiat falls we were greeted by these ladders.
Tsusiat Falls from up above. Don't be up the creek here!
View from the trail just north of Tsusiat Falls, looking south.

View from north of Klanawa River, looking south.
Shipwreck near Tsocowis creek.
Orange Juice Creek, or at least I'm pretty sure it is.
Shore crab - this guy was standing his ground, and in a fighting mood...
Tide pool life #2 - Tide pool at Michigan beach with many, many sea urchins in their little cubby holes.
Tide pool life #1 - Colorful tide pools at Michigan beach with anemones & purple sea urchins
Starfish & sea anemone - the starfish is hugging the anemone...
Another starfish. Starfish on the rocks at Michigan beach.
Sea life on the rocks at Michigan Beach.
Foggy morning at Michigan beach. Apparently these types of days are common on the West Coast Trail, but this was the only foggy morning we awoke to. (It did not rain on us this day, either).
Forest trail north of Michigan Beach. This part of the trail was so easy... !
Pachena Point lighthouse.
These signs are always quite entertaining.
Uprooted tree. After the storms of the winter 2006/2007 we heard about all the downed trees. Here is just one of them.
Bridge 1. For some this is the beginning... for us it is the end of a great journey! :)
Chris and I. Here we are, at the end of our journey. Tired, but in great shape. And, in need of some beer! (OK we didn't really need beer but they tasted great - and thank you to our fellow camper at Pachena Bay campsite who donated to the cause)
